Pokemon Adventures - Episode I: Let the journey begin!

The day starts off beautiful as the morning sun raises over the horizon, bringing light over the small town known as New Bark Town. As the morning arrives, people were coming out of their homes to start their morning routine. The men head off to work and the women go do their normal things like going to the market or their jobs as the young kids head to school to learn. but some young folks dream of going on pokemon journeys. Especially one young teenage girl, who will begin her pokemon journey.

In a bedroom at a two story house, A young girl name Kana Gallosilk was asleep in her bed dreaming of her pokemon adventure that she will be starting today. The sun shines through the window of her bedroom as she woke up and opened her beautiful light blue eyes. Kana sat up in her bed and stretched before turning to her window and look outside to the beautiful sunny day. Then she gets up and makes her bed before grabbing her trainer clothes and heading into her bathroom for a nice warm shower. After that, she comes downstairs and heads to the kitchen where her mom was fixing breakfast and her dad was sitting at the table reading his daily newspaper with a cup of warm coffee on the table.

"Morning, mom. Morning, dad." Kana greated her parents while smiling.

Her dad looked up from his newspaper and smiled at his daughter while her mom brought their breakfast over to the table and she sat down.

"Well, good morning, sunshine. Did you sleep well?" Her dad greeted back.

"yes I did. I had a really wonderful dream of starting my pokemon adventure." Kana answered as she sat down.

"Well, you must be very excited today then." her mom said.

"I am very excited." Kana said.

The family of three begins to eat their breakfast. During their morning meal, they started up another conversation. Then her dad turned to his daughter and decided to ask her what her choice was for her first pokemon.

"Well, I've been giving it some thought last night and I think I'm gonna go for a totodile." Kana said before she took a drink of her milk.

"A totodile would be an excellent choice for your first pokemon." Her dad said.

After breakfast, the three gathered outside and heads towards the Pokemon Lab to see Professor Elm. The lab was only about a 20 mile walk from their house. They arrive at the professor's lab and Kana went inside while her parents waited outside.

"Hello. I'm here to get my pokemon and start my journey." Kana greeted.

"Why hello there!" Professor Elm called out, standing up from his desk, which had all kinds of scientific papers cluttered on top of it. He looked Kana up and down, then opened a drawer of his desk and retrieved three different Pokeballs.

Setting them out on the desk, each seemed special in their own way, and each had an insignia on them: an ember of fire, a waterdrop, and a leaf, showing which type of Pokemon lies inside. "So," the Professor said, "Take your pick, but choose carefully, your choice determines what your new partner and travel companion will be for your journey, it's not a halfhazard choice to make." He stepped back, and swept his arm out, a gesture telling her she could make her choice.

Kana smiles and heads over to Professor Elm. She was excited to pick her new pokemon as Professor Elm stood up and placed the three pokeballs on the desk. With a nod, Kana looks at the three.

"I've been giving it some thoughts last night. But, I know which pokemon I'm going for. I choose, Totodile." Kana said as she picks up the pokeball with totodile.

"A good choice, Totodile is a very loyal and strong Pokemon, I believe it will suit you well." Professor Elm scooped up the remaining balls and set them back in the drawer. He then retrieved another item, a PokeDex, and stood in front of Kana, extending his hand and offering the device. "Because you're going out to explore the world, would you mind doing me a favour? This machine is a PokeDex, it records the information of every Pokemon you encounter, and relays it back to me, something that can be vital to my research. If it's not too much trouble, would you mind taking it along with you?"

"Sure thing, professor." Kana said.

Kana takes the pokedex and puts it away in her back pouch. Then Kana tosses the pokeball up and let's the totodile out. The totodile shook himself and then looks up at Kana.

"Hi there, fella. I'm Kana and I'm your new trainer." Kana greeted to the totodile.

The totodile jumped up and down with excitement and Kana picks him up gently.

"You and I are gonna be best friends." Kana said.

Suddenly and without warning, a man burst into the lab looking rushed and out of breath. "Professor!" He shouted, barely managing to speak in between heavy breaths. "The...project folder...has been...stolen." Taken aback, Professor Elm grabbed a bottle of water, and handed it. To the man, who gulped it down in only a few seconds.

"Now Steven, what exactly happened?" the Professor asked the man, who sighed and looked down in shame.

"I was delivering the folder pertaining to the strange stone we found to Lance, like you asked. Before I could reach him, however, some man threatened and robbed it from me. He had a scyther, and was threatening to do-" Steven shuddered, and glossed over the detail, "he forced me to give him the folder, and I did. I ran for my life back here, and I don't know what to do!" The Professor gave a concerned look in Kana's direction.

"Er, Kana, I'm glad you'll help me with my PokeDex, and I wish you best of luck in your journey, but Steven and I have things to discuss in private..." he glanced and gestured to the door with an apologetic look, implying Kana to leave.

(Don't worry, this isn't the last you'll hear about the notebook and robber)

Kana looked at the assistent name Steven and looks bact Professor Elm only to nod at him.

"I understand, Professor. Thank you so much and I promise to take good care of this totodile." Kana said.

With that, Kana sets the totodile down and they both leave the pokemon lab. Outside, her parents were still waiting and they had apparently saw Steven run into the pokemon lab. Her parents looked up and saw Kana and they also noticed the little pokemon beside her.

"Hey, Kana. Is that your pokemon?" Her mom said with a question.

"It sure is. Isn't he cute?" Kana answered as she looked down at the totodile.

"He sure is, Kana. I'm sure you and this totodile will become great friends." her dad said.

"So, what are you gonna name him?" her mom asked.

"Let's see...I think I'll call him GatorClaw." Kana answered.

The totodile, now named GatorClaw, jumped around Kana very happy with his new name.

"I think he likes it, Kana. A very nice name." her dad said.

Then, Kana looked at her parents as they look back at her. Kana walked over and they give each other one last family hug. For it was now time for Kana to be on her way and start her pokemon journey.

"We're gonna miss you so much, Kana." her mom said.

"I'll miss you guys too." Kana said.

"Before you go. Your mom and I have a special gift for ya." her dad said.

Kana's parents brought out a light blue and light pink pokegear. Kana gasped at the pokegear and she couldn't believe that they were giving her one as well.

"It's your very own Pokegear. Now you can stay in contact with us whever you go." her mom said.

"And it already has our numbers." her dad said.

Kana takes the pokegear and hooked it to the strap of her pouch. Then she gives her parents one last hug. Then she and GatorClaw turned and they began to take their leave while Kana waved to her parents. Kana and GatorClaw leaves New Bark Town and onto route 29. Thus, the start of her pokemon adventure.

Once Kana and GatorClaw arrived on route 29, they begin to look for some pokemon.

It didn't take long for something to appear. Poking its head out of a nearby bush was a Sentret, who smiled up at Kana and GatorClaw. It seemed friendly, and could also be ignored if Kana wanted to focus on a different Pokemon.

Sentret, Female, Level 3

Kana and GatorClaw stopped and noticed the sentret. Kana smiled as she was happy to find a pokemon.

"Aww. how cute. It's a sentret." Kana said.

Sentret looked up at Kana with wide and happy eyes, sniffing up at the girl. "Tret," she said in satisfaction, approaching Kana cautiously and sniffing at her bag. She looked at Kana with wide eyes, pulling a cute face in hopes of weaseling some food from her.

Kan smiled as she watched the sentret. Kana took notice that it was a female and that she was curious about her. Kana also noticed that she looked like she was wanting some food.

"Hmm...the only thing I have are 5 oran berries. But, how would you like come along with me and GatorClaw? I can take really good care of you and when we find some more berries, I can feed you those. how does that sound?" Kana offered to the little sentret.

Sentret cocked her head to one side and considered Kana's words. After moments of thought, she nodded her head enthusiastically, wagging her thick tail.

Sentret would like to join your team!

Kana smiled as GatorClaw jumped up and down, excited that he'll have a new friend on the team. Kana giggled at GatorClaw before reaching into her back pouch and pulling out a pokeball.

"Alright. Here we go. Go, Pokeball!" Kana called as he tosses the pokeball at the sentret.

The ball wiggled once, twice, a third time, then with a 'ding', Sentret was caught.

Sentret was caught! Would you like to give her a nickname?

Kana smiled as she picked up the pokeball, which now contained their new friend, a sentret.

"Alright! Our first pokemon caught! I think I'll call her Bellum. What do you think, GatorClaw?" Kana said as she turns to GatorClaw.

"Totodile!" GatorClaw shouted with happiness.

"Alright. Then that's what her name shall be. Welcome to the team, Bellum. You and I are gonna be good friends." Kana said.

Then Kana and GatorClaw continued onward to look for more pokemon on route 29.

A rustle in a nearby tree was accompanied by the melodious "Hoo, hoo," of a Hoothoot. It was an odd time for one to be awake, but noneoftheless, it was. He lazily looked down at Kana, and continued his hooting. If she wished, she could probably battle the bird, but she could also ignore him and look elsewhere.

Hoothoot, male, level 6

Kana and GatorClaw looked up towards the tree and took notice of the hoothoot.

"A hoothoot." Kana said.

GatorClaw walked up to the tree and looked up at the hoothoot. Kana smiled, knowing that GatorClaw wanted to battle.

"Alright, GatorClaw. We'll try and catch this one too." Kana said as she puts on her battle face.

GatorClaw got ready to battle the hoothoot.

"GatorClaw, use hydro pump!" Kana called out.

GatorClaw released a hydro pump form his mouth at the hoothoot.

Hoothoot seemed to have underestimated GatorCla, for he was unprepared for a long range attack from a Totodile so young. Getting blasted by the torent, he was launched from his branch and slammed into the ground below. Shakily getting up, he launched into the air and seemed to wait out GatorClaw, awaiting his next move and planning a counter attack.

"GatorClaw, use hydro pump again to get it back on the ground!" Kana called out again.

GatorClaw looked up at the hoothoot and launched another hydro pump.

This time, however, Hoothoot was prepared for the attack. Shifting his wings, he swooped under the strong burst of water, and straight at GatorClaw. As he passed by the side of the Totodile, he released a strange and hypnotic pulse at his opponent, attempting a Hypnosis attack.

"Dodge it, GatorClaw!" Kana called out.

GatorClaw jumped back, avoiding the hypnosis. Then GatorClaw turned to it and he was ready for his next attack.

"Now use Scracth!" Kana called out again.

GatorClaw ran up at the hoothoot and used scratch.

Hoothoot blazed with annoyance as his attack missed, and cried out when GatorClaw's claws raked across him. Seeing an opportunity, however, he unleashed another Hypnosis while GatorClaw was still close.

This time, GatorClaw was caught in the hypnosis. His eyes began to droop as he swayed back and forth before he fell backwards and went to sleep.

"GatorClaw!" Kana shouted.

Kana went over to him and picked the sleeping pokemon up. Kana looked at the hoot and brings out the pokeball that had Bellum.

"Bellum, take over!" Kana said.

"Tret! Sentret!" Bellum called as she springs from her pokeball and then landed with the tip of her tail.

"Bellum, use scratch!" Kana called out.

Bellum hopped off her tail and scurried at hoothoot. Then when she got close, she used scratch on him.

Hoothoot had gained too much confidense when he put GatorClaw to sleep, and didn't see the Pokemon switch coming. He was again raked with claws as Sentret's attack hit, and he cried out, and fell to the ground, breathless. With him paused and trying to recover, it would be the perfect opportunity to attempt a catch.

Kana quickly took a pokeball from her back pouch.

"Alright! Go, pokeball!" Kana called out as she tossed the pokeball at hoothoot.
