A Pound of Feathers and a Pound of Bricks [Open] Empty
PostSubject: A Pound of Feathers and a Pound of Bricks [Open]   A Pound of Feathers and a Pound of Bricks [Open] EmptyMon Aug 12, 2013 10:26 pm

Lisica walked down the path heading away from her home slowly. The constant crunch of gravel under her shoes was somewhat soothing, adding a bit of uniformity and absoluteness to the situation. She could count on the crunching underfoot, it would happen regardless of where she was, so long as she was on the path. But where would that path lead? She was setting off on her grand journey, and a huge cloud of doubt followed her step for step, and she could do little to shoo it away. Still, she didn't look back, not even one last wayward glance back home, and continued on the path. On a grand adventure where she hopes to come out on top.

Conscia sat nestled in Lisica's arms, enjoying the gently whip of the breeze across her face. Along with the sound of the gravel crunching under her trainer's feet, it was things like this that made her almost picture her surroundings. Still, the concept of seeing was alien to her. Sure, she could get a sense of things by feeling them, any image she tried to conjure would just become a garble of other senses. The acute scent of trees and grass suddenly crossed her nose, and she knew they were beginning to hit the outskirts of town. Excitement surged through her at the thought of it: she was going to experience the world like she dreamed she would. Whatever happened, it beat being stuck with Juniper or... she she shook her head slightly to herself. She wouldn't think of the first trainer she had...

Acer sat resting in his Pokeball. He usually liked to walk alongside Lisica and Conscia, but he felt oddly exhausted this night, and simply closed his eyes and slept.

As Lisica had been walking down the path a small boy by the name of Edwin had been looking for his baby Poochyena all morning, but to no avail so far. Edwin lived just outside of town with his Grandmother and Mother, his father had left him at birth and his Grandpa had since passed away. Any who, the young boy Edwin had been tracking down his Poochyena all morning and had eventually made his way into the forest outside of town, coincidentally close to Lisica.
On the path, coming from ahead of Lisica was a small yip like bark, followed by a young boys voice screaming after it. "Pooch!" An excitement was in the air, like two friends reunited after years of separation.

Lisica turned toward the disturbance with curious eyes. She herself was joyed to finally have found something to distract her from the otherwise uneventful and dull journey she had had so far. The excited yip so akin to that of a puppy sounded near her, and she turned to see a young boy running to the wolf-like Pokemon she assumed he had lost. She smiled to herself, it's nice to see people and Pokemon together, she thought, they seem to love each other very much, I hope I'll be like that with my own Pokemon some day...

Conscia had her eyes closed, not that it didn't make much of a difference, and was lightly dozing within her spot still nestled in her trainer's arms. Unlike Acer, she didn't fancy to stay in her Pokeball while traveling. It was too... foreign to her: cold, metallic, and silent, completely cutting off all of her ties to the world. A strange scent came across her nose: similar to that of a Lillipup, but still different, a Pokemon she had never encountered, but like the familiar dog of her home. She also heard the loud, higher pitched shouts of a boy, and rapid running strides moving toward each other with quicker and quicker 'thudding' as the steps grew more rapid. She leaned back, content to listen to whatever was going on nearby.

Young Edwin continued to chase his small Poochyena into the foliage next to the path. After a small shriek the boy came running back onto the path the Poochyena cradled in his hands. Edwin looked around for a moment, without stopping to get his barrings he ran over to Lisica, almost tripping on his way. He instantly hid himself behind the mystery girl. After readjusting his Pokemon he raised a shaking finger towards the bushes he had just come out of. Not but a minute later the bushes began to shake fiercely, sticks and leaves snapping continually. Popping out was a Houndour who looked particularly angry. "Poochyena didn't know what it was so he bit its tail, please help." Edwin pleaded as the Houndour slowly began stomping his way towards the two.

Lisica barely had any time to react before the terrified boy took shelter behind her legs, leading the snarling and angry Pokemon now toward her. She felt Conscia shift in her arms and perk her ears toward the source of the growling before wriggling out of her grasp and landing in front of it. She took her scalop from its spot perfectly placed on her stomach and calmly gripped it, facing Houndour. To Lisica, it seemed like a warning: she would attack if he didn't calm down and stop his approach.

Conscia heard the curious sound of hurried footsteps barrel toward them before coming to a stop somewhere behind her. The mingled hurried breath and scent of fear radiating ferom whoever it was doing the running was enough to send her one edge. Then she focused her ears on another approaching figure, who had started snarling and growling, getting closer and closer. She forced her way out of her trainer's arms and stood between the two figures: it was only the most logical course of action. She fished her scallop from its resting position and held it out toward the source of the growling. If it didn't back down, she would make it.

The houndour seemed to begin circling Conscia, making a curved walk towards the boy and his Poochyena before turning around and walking around the other side, trying to find an opening in the enemy, it seemed that he gave up on that idea though. the Houndour did a small jump to face Conscia directly, the Houndour opened his mouth and began to exhale, a dark purple almost black smoke came out and began to fill the air, floating towards Conscia.

Lisica stood back in a protective stance in front of the scared boy and his Pokemon. She didn't call a command to Conscia, knowing she functioned best when left to her own resources.

Conscia felt the air suddenly become thick and unsettling. She could scent a sharp smell that burned her nose, and as she breathed in, her lungs heaved as the poison found its way into them. Coughs wracked her body as the attack took its toll, even more so with her acute and heightened senses. She shook her head and the terrible feeling the attack filled her with away. Knowing the Smog would remain around her if she didn't take action, she used the last of her breath to launch out a torrent of water straight above her, causing the droplets to rain down upon the unsettling cloud, stirring it up enough to allow her a clear breath. Then, she aimed toward the sound of the Houndour's heavy breathing, and she launched another Water Gun toward him.

The Houndour was unable to see anything through the thick fog, like before he began to pace back and forth, waiting to see what became of the small opponent. Houndour watched in surprise as the fountain of water came out of the smoke. Being completely distracted, and probably couldn't see through the remaining fog anyway, the Houndour had no way of knowing the Water Gun was coming, it blasted him right in the face. After a moment or so of thrashing in the water in confusion the Houndour had lost his footing, only escaping the water by being thrown back by the high pressured rush. The Houndour rose, seemingly limping from the critical attack that had been dealt to it. The Pokemon seemed to check his surroundings for a moment, after deeming no way of escaping the dog like Pokemon cracked his mouth, firing off a couple of Embers towards Conscia.

Conscia felt one flash of heat whiz past her face, and by that time, it was too late. Another flash of heat crossed precariously close to her nose before the blunt of the attack reached her. She managed to lift her scallop in front of her face and close her eyes, at least sparing that part of her body. Still, as the barrage of heat overtook her (she cannot see the fire, only feel te heat, so that's how it's described), it was not as she would have expected. Sure, it did still take a toll, but it was more of an uncomfort than a true attack.

She shook her her fur until the remains of the clinging heat were thrust from it. Remembering the panicked scraping of the strange Pokemon's feet against the path and the whine he made when her Water Gun had hit, she decided that another would be the best option. She took a deep breath in, summoned up the water, and launched it toward the Houndour. Unlike him, who used sight to aim, she used sound, making he much more easy to locate than she.

The stray Houndour once again had no chance to dodge the pinpoint accuracy of Conscia and her water gun. The blasts of water hit the Houndour on the side of the head, contentiously blasting him before he flew back yet again. This time the wild Pokemon didnt stand back it, it had fainted.

Conscia grinned in victory and placed her trusty scallop back onto its place nestled in the fur of her stomach. The silence of her foe and the sudden shallowness of his breathing was enough for her to assume he was no longer a threat. She perked her ears back toward the steady breathing of her trainer, as well as the heavy breathing of the stranger and his unfamiliar Pokemon, and made her way back toward them. She felt the ground fall beneath her, and fell into the familiar and warm arms of her trainer. Pride swelled through Conscia, and she imagined that her trainer felt the same, no, she knew her trainer felt the same.

Lisica grinned just as Conscia ha with her Pokemon's victory. Once her little Oshawott turned and headed back toward her, she scooped up the blind Pokemon with a successful gleam of pride in her eyes. Then, she looked down toward Edwin and his Poochyena with a sly smile now on her face. "Have you learned your lesson," she chuckled, "don't go messing with unfamiliar things, you don't know if they can bite back or not!"
